Rules & Tools

Speech and Debate is sometimes as complex for competitors as it is for coaches. Competitions occur in-person in Arizona, but almost all the tools we use to run tournaments are on Tabroom.com. The ASDCA works in partnership with the AIA (Arizona Interscholastic Association) to form a rules manual, but also borrows significantly from NSDA (National Speech & Debate Association) rules to ensure our students are competitive on the national circuit. The NSDA also offers incredible resource packages and membership benefits, including the National Speech & Debate Tournament, the largest academic competition in the world. The NFHS (National Federation of High Schools) offers great insurance for speech and debate coaches, and also assists with topic voting. All of which is to say: its a lot, so we’re here to help!
